Sys2Diag is an alliance between the CNRS, France’s largest government scientific research institution, and ALCEDIAG, a subsidiary of the ALCEN group. Sys2Diag is committed to innovative cutting-edge research in medical diagnostics, as well as in the engineering of a new generation of interactive medical devices.
The brief
The example of the clinical study dedicated to COVID-19 for the development of the EasyCov test is, on this point, very telling. Each day, Sys2diag’s researchers had to analyze 50 to 70 samples, and so had to organize themselves to be fast and efficient in the face of the epidemic. They set up a chain of several stations, from reception to experimentation and analysis, in different rooms separated by various obstacles (concrete walls, corridors, elevator shafts). Since these are human samples, researchers are obliged to wear gowns, gloves, lab coats and masks. This makes it difficult, time-consuming and tedious for them to leave the room if they have to fetch materials from outside.
The deployed solution
The VOKKERO GUARDIAN communication system enabled them to coordinate between the various links in the chain, and to anticipate and prepare each other for the sequence of sample handling operations. When they needed additional material, an external person would come and bring it directly to them.
